LA mansion where MJ died up for grabs2010.08.05. // Entertainment

Melbourne, Aug 05 (ANI): The house where legendary pop singer Michael Jackson died is now up for sale for 30 million dollars.

The French chateau-style mansion has seven bedrooms, a seven-car garage and 13 bathrooms, according to TMZ.

The 1600 sq metre mansion is situated in the affluent Los Angeles suburb of Holmby Hills.

The house has 12 working fireplaces, a theatre, wine cellar and gymnasium as well as an inbuilt elevator to travel up and down its three levels.

Interested buyers will have to undergo an ‘extensive pre-qualifying check’ to tour the home, in an effort to avoid diehard fans wanting to see where the King of Pop died, reports The Herald Sun.

The home’s owner, Ed Hardy chief executive Hubert Guez, rented the mansion to Jackson in 2009 as the singer rehearsed his This Is It tour.

It was reported that Guez apparently tried to sell the property in 2008 before agreeing to rent it to Jackson. (ANI)

Casting of Dev Patel’s ‘The Last Airbender’ sparks race row2010.08.01. // Actor

London, Aug 1 (ANI): British Indian actor Dev Patel’s new film ‘The Last Airbender’ has sparked a race row – after film bosses changed all the heroes into white people and cast Asians as villains.

The new flick is based on a hit kids’ cartoon series set in a fantasy world from Chinese and Inuit legends.

The cartoon has three Asian heroes – Aang, Katara and Sokka. However, in the film they are played by white Americans – including two unkown child actors and Twilight’s Jackson Rathbone, 25.

On the other hand, all the villains remain Asian, played by dark-skinned actors, reports News of the World.

The ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ star plays evil Prince Zuko in the movie, which opens here on August 13.

The cartoon’s co-creator has already slammed the ‘whitewashing’ on his MySpace page after being deluged with messages from angry fans.

He wrote: ‘I have nothing to do with the casting whatsoever for the feature film.’

Over 100 protesters picketed the premiere in Hollywood last month, dubbing it The Last Racebender.

The movie has already recouped its 96-million-pound budget in the US, but it has been universally slammed by critics. (ANI)

Jackson’s doctors cleared2010.07.29. // Entertainment

London, July 29 (IANS) The seven doctors, who were under investigation over King of Pop Michael Jackson’s death last year, will not be charged.

However, Jackson’s personal doctor Conrad Murray, who denies involuntary manslaughter, was not among the seven doctors questioned by investigators. He is accused of giving Jackson a lethal overdose of anaesthetic.

Los Angeles police had asked Californian state investigators to look into the way the doctors had prescribed drugs.

Lawyer Brian Oxman, who is representing Jackson’s father Joe in a wrongful death civil case, said he was “very disappointed”.

“The misuse of medications by Michael Jackson in the last years of his life was excessive and to fail to bring that to the public eye is ignoring reality,” bbc.co.uk quoted him as saying.

Katy Perry brushes her teeth at least three times a day!2010.07.28. // Entertainment

London, July 28 (ANI): Singer/songwriter Katy Perry has revealed that she is so scared of being accused of having bad breath that she brushes her teeth at least three times a day.

Perry, 25, who admits she was too poor to take her dental hygiene seriously when she was a child, also revealed that watching Britney Spears videos inspired her to brush her teeth religiously.

“I brush my teeth all the time. I wanted them to be, like, Britney Spears-white,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying in a new YouTube.com interview.

“I used to grow up seeing her music videos and be like, ‘What does she do? Does she get a new set of teeth all the time? They’re so white’.

“I’m really anal about that because I like good breath. A turn off for me with guys is, like, halitosis… I’m the kind of friend that’s like, ‘Stick a piece of gum in your mouth, ‘cos I’m gonna save some friendships for you’.

“I’ll brush my teeth (after) breakfast, lunch and dinner… I did have 13 cavities at one time, so you can imagine why I’m so freaked out.

“When I was a kid I didn’t really go to the dentist a lot… and when I finally went, they were like, ‘You might as well get a new set of teeth’,” she added. (ANI)
